Implantology and implant-supported dentures
Implantology is a branch of dentistry which is made up of a surgical arm (implanting) and a prosthetic arm i.e. rebuilding teeth on implants. This is the most natural way to replace lost teeth and also the most comfortable in the long term.
There have been rapid developments in the field of implantology over the past 40 years. Implants give excellent support for prosthetic replacements, with much improved cosmetic results and ease of use. We use a range of implant systems depending on their intended use.

Treatment with implants is preceded by a comprehensive diagnostic process:
- taking the patient's medical history,
- assessing impressions of the teeth and evaluation of the contact between the lower and upper teeth,
- digital X-rays.
These procedures allow the dentist to make the right choice of implant system. The implants are inserted under local anaesthetic and so the procedure is totally pain free. After the healing period is over (3 months for the lower jaw and 6 months for the upper jaw), the reconstruction process can begin.
