- Supragingival scaling is a procedure that removes tartar from the surfaces of tooth crowns, i.e. the part above the gum line. At our clinic, we use modern ultrasonic EMS Prophylaxis Master, which enables effective tartar removal without pain or discomfort. After scaling, the cleaned surfaces are polished, leaving the teeth smooth and reducing the risk of plaque build-up.
- Subgingival scaling is a more advanced procedure that removes tartar from below the gum line. Performed using the ultrasonic EMS Prophylaxis Master device and manual instruments (curettes), it allows access to hard-to-reach areas without risking damage to tooth tissues. The procedure is generally painless, although some discomfort may occur in cases of inflamed tissues or exposed tooth necks. If necessary, local anaesthesia can be provided to ensure full patient comfort.
After scaling, the tooth surfaces are polished, making them smoother and more resistant to plaque build-up. Additionally, after scaling, Airflow treatment is recommended for even more thorough cleaning, followed by fluoride varnishing, which effectively prevents cavities and tooth sensitivity.

The procedure involves spraying a mixture of water, air, and sodium bicarbonate at high pressure, allowing for precise cleaning of tooth surfaces, especially in hard-to-reach areas such as interdental spaces, where traditional tools cannot reach.

Fissure Sealing – Filling Grooves in Teeth
Fissure sealing is an effective method of preventing cavities, involving the filling of tooth grooves and depressions with a special sealant.
Grooves and depressions are areas where food debris and bacteria often accumulate, and their complex shape makes thorough cleaning difficult. These areas are the most prone to cavity formation.
The procedure is especially recommended for children and should be performed within two years of tooth eruption. Sealing is applied to healthy permanent molars and premolars, as well as natural grooves such as blind pits on the surfaces of upper incisors or the buccal surfaces of molars.
In cases of high cavity risk in children, sealing primary molars is also advisable as an effective preventive measure.

Fluoride varnishing is typically performed twice a year, preferably after procedures such as scaling and Airflow, to enhance the effects of tooth cleaning.
If a patient has exposed tooth necks or a high cavity risk, the procedure can be carried out up to four times a year.
The procedure is recommended for both children and adults to effectively protect teeth from cavities and sensitivity
Oral hygiene instruction
The oral hygiene instruction – most often addressed to young patients – provides detailed guidance on proper oral care. Following the examination, our dentists select an individual brushing technique tailored to the patient, taking into account the challenges of cleaning smooth tooth surfaces, interdental surfaces and other hard-to-reach areas of the mouth.
The dentist also advises on choosing the right type of toothbrush, toothpaste, and additional accessories. The presentation of oral care products is accompanied by a demonstration of how to apply them, either on models or directly in the patient’s mouth.
